LAFC TO OFFER BIG MONEY FOR IBRAHIMOVIC
MLS expansion side Los Angeles FC are reportedly set to offer Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic £5million-a-season, according to the Daily Mail.
LAFC will not begin play until March 2018, but would provide Ibrahimovic, who is out of contract in the summer, a huge deal with a loan-back option, allowing the striker to remain with the Red Devils for at least part 2017-18 campaign.
The rumoured salary would put Ibrahimovic near the top of the wage-earners in MLS, though below Orlando City playmaker and Brazil icon Kaka and Toronto FC star Sebastian Giovinco.
MAN UTD AND SPURS WANT MERTENS
Manchester United and Tottenham are set to battle it out for the signature of Napoli forward Dries Mertens in the summer, according to a report from DH.
The 29-year-old has struck 21 goals in 29 appearances for the Serie A side this season, with another five goals in six starts coming in the Champions League, leading to a three-way transfer battle.
Napoli are said to be willing to match the £2.5 million salary that the two Premier League clubs are offering in order to keep their star player.
